Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive impairment of kidney function in which the body is unable to maintain metabolism, fluid balance, and electrolyte balance, leading to elevated urea levels. Chronic kidney disease can affect various cardiovascular systems, necessitating medical treatment, one of which is hemodialysis. Patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis often experience malnutrition and anemia, leading to fatigue due to their dependence on the dialysis machine.

The purpose of this study is to provide nursing care using foot massage as an intervention for fatigue in patients with chronic kidney disease. This study employed a case study method involving a single subject, namely An. Tj, a patient with chronic kidney disease. The study was conducted from January 27 to February 2, 2025. The nursing care provided consisted of foot massage interventions to reduce fatigue levels in patients with chronic kidney disease. The interventions were administered for 15 minutes each day over a 6-day treatment period. Nursing care monitoring was conducted before and after the foot massage interventions to assess fatigue levels in patients with chronic kidney disease. The results of the study indicate that nursing care incorporating foot massage interventions can reduce fatigue levels in patients with chronic kidney disease. The conclusion of this study is that foot massage interventions can address fatigue in patients with chronic kidney disease.
